Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is a new amino acid surfactant. It is made by condensing natural fatty acids with sodium methyl taurate. It is a white paste at room temperature and a light yellow liquid at >40℃. It makes the foam rich, delicate and stable under a wide range of pH values. The hydrophilic amino acid structure has very little irritation to the skin. The surfactant has good compatibility and excellent washing, wetting, emulsifying and dispersing abilities. It is often used in the preparation of various high-end cosmetics, baby products, etc.
Origin
Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is used as a natural substitute to harsh sulphates and silicones for its effective surfactant properties.
1.Skin care: It works as a cleanser and blends the oil and water well to clean impurities however, it does not strip the natural pH of your skin giving it a nice and soft after-feel. Since it is a non-irritant, it can be used for sensitive skin, even for people with a skin condition called rosacea
2.Hair care: It is commonly used in shampoos to make it sulphate-free. It provides a high foaming and mild surfactant activity and is mild to the scalp making it a preferred choice in medicated and anti-dandruff shampoos
